Acknowledging Thy Self

“Life is full of uncertainty, so are social relationships but the best one is always with yourself and your work!”

My Traineeship Mentor, Ar. Narendra Dengle

Above words have always resonated with me. At a young age, I understood the importance of knowing oneself and the latter, the pursuit of minding my work. But we tend to forget both when we are employed and work only for the paycheck which comes month to month. As we become so accustom to that schedule. The point I am making is knowing yourself is utmost important in the current ever-changing world.

We pray to God to ask forgiveness for the sins we have committed and to get better in life. We ask for forgiveness to the people whom we have But have we ever asked ourselves for forgiveness?

“This is an important book, but it’s really irritating.” The boy was shocked. The old man knew how to read and had already read the book. And if the book was irritating, as the old man had said, the boy still had time to change it for another.

“It’s a book that says the same thing almost all the other books in the world say,” continued the old man. “It describes people’s inability to choose their own Personal Legends. And it ends up saying that everyone believes the world’s greatest lie.”

“What’s the world’s greatest lie?” the boy asked, completely surprised.

“It’s this: that at a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.

That’s the world’s greatest lie.”

The above abstract from The Alchemist, where the boy was reading a book when the old man asked him about the book.

From very early in life, we all are aware of our likings - desire and we are indeed capable to work towards our dream at any time of our live. But why aren’t we choosing ourselves?

Because we so are trapped in the net of comfort zone, created by familiarising ourselves to the new aid technology. We don’t even want to make basic decisions. In a way, we are destructing our know ability to feel confident in who we truly are!

There’s always a choice to recognise our instincts and inner voice. There’s also a possibility of having a dream, any dream! came true that makes us feel alive and excited for each day. Working as employee isn’t bad unless you are aware of your inner self.

Following pointers, might help you to know yourself better,

  • The key is trying, trusting, and learning the language of your inner gut.

  • Introspecting how you felt in certain situations on day-to day basis.

  • Make a specific note what made you happy and excited today.

Would suggest to note the answers of the above on daily basis. When we acknowledge ourselves, we generate the inner energy and confidence that radiate beyond ourselves. This can also help to fight the deep insecurities. Take this milli-step forward today to know yourself litte better. Your thoughts?
